About Asterion
Asterion is one of the names given to the Minotaur in the ancient Greek myth. It is a hidden name meaning ‘starry one.’ It speaks to what is unseen, mysterious, and often held in the dark. For us, Asterion represents the inner world: the realm of dreams, images, symbols, and stories; the language of the unconscious.
In the myth, the labyrinth is both a place of fear and a space of transformation. We see it as a powerful image for the therapeutic journey: a winding path through uncertainty, where something essential can be found. It is within these twists and turns that integration, healing, and insight can emerge.
“The labyrinth is a metaphor for the inward journey, the wandering through darkness toward light, a movement that carries the soul into its own depth.”
James Hillman
Asterion Therapies is based in the centre of Athens, not far from where the ancient myth was first imagined. We draw on the rich symbolic landscape of this place, its myths, history, and natural elements as a living backdrop for inner work and creative exploration.
We create spaces where this kind of exploration is possible. Spaces rooted in creativity, relationship, and embodied awareness. Whether through therapy, supervision, or group experiences, our work supports people in reconnecting with themselves, navigating inner landscapes, and finding meaning in the process.
